Yuna was terribly afraid of the water. It looked like a black hole that was going to just suck her up and eat her. However, she had decided to join the Neptune Warriors because she didn't want to be afraid of the water anymore. Not only that, but she would show that Wulf guy or whatever that she could handle the choppy water and that she wasn't going to be stomped on by him.
In an attempt to habituate herself with the water, she followed the sound of the crashing waves to the coast. She stayed a good ways away, just watching the waves pound the shore. Her gray eyes followed the line of the coast as her ears followed the cries of the birds. Yuna took one small, cautious step toward the ocean. As soon as she did, a huge wave collided with the land and made a loud noise, which caused her to spook and take a few steps backward. Her hands flew up to her face in an attempt to shield herself from the water that was going to devour her. However, she was so far from the water that she was almost in the grass.
Yuna parted her fingers slowly and peeked through them. When she saw the water receding, she took a few large steps toward it. When it would come back up again, she'd freak out and run back to the grass.
At last, she gave up and collapsed on the grass, eyeing the water furiously. It was toying with her, and Yuna wasn't someone to be toyed with. But, the water was also a lot stronger than her, and she knew that.
"I have to get past this stupid fear," she mumbled to herself, placing her face in her hands. She rubbed her forehead callously in contemplation. Then she threw her hands down to her sides and stood up.
She ran up to the sea, to the edge of the wet sand, and waited for the water to lap at her toes. Yuna flinched as the coldness enveloped her feet and then left them. She stooped down, placing her hands in the water as it flowed. Once it ebbed, she stood back up and continued to watch the water.
Yuna wasn't expecting herself to even touch the water today, but so far she was doing pretty good. She was able to inch herself in a bit further as she warmed up to it. She was about up to her waist when the water really started to frighten her. When it touched her stomach, the cold was almost like a knife running across her skin, so she didn't go any further. Her shorts were completely soaked now, but she didn't care because the water was sort of... relaxing. As long as she stayed in, she was warm enough and fond of it.
However, Yuna was busy enjoying the water, not really paying attention to the rolling of the waves anymore. Sure, she could hear their roar, but she thought of them as playful growls now. Almost like a challenge, and Yuna couldn't resist a challenge. As she was in quite deep now, a wave could easily sweep her under. Yuna was occupied with getting the seaweed from out under her feet to notice the wave approaching her with devilish speed. It towered well above her and as it approached her, it broke and the tide hit her like a freight train. It knocked her under, causing her to swirl underwater for a moment as the wave passed over her. As soon as the panic had subsided, Yuna resurfaced and gasped for air like she had been under for a minute or two.
Once she regained her footing, she raced out of the water, slipping a few times here and there and being pummeled by the tide. She made it out, though, and was again quite terrified of the water. Yuna pounced on the dry sand, where the water hadn't reached yet. She drew her knees up to her chest, wrapped her arms around her knees, and placed her head against them. She was shivering now, from being so cold and wet, and also from the fear that had just struck her.
Gradually, the fear disintegrated. She uncoiled a bit, now that she was somewhat warmer. Her hands went up to wring the water out of her hair, and then she proceeded to brush the sand off her legs. Despite her wanting to get over her fear, Yuna simply sat there, glaring at the ocean. She wasn't going to go back in there today. It obviously didn't like her much. Yuna only hoped no one saw what happened today. If there was anyone around, she would have heard them before they could even see her, so she was pretty sure she was in the clear.
Yuna sighed, lowering her eyes from the sea. She laid back against the sand, even though her body was still wet. She closed her eyes and let the calm air soothe her.

Fresh air, mixed with the harsh tinge salt felt amazingly refreshing as it rushed through his airways. The wind hit him, running his hair wild and making it stick up awkwardly near the front where it was longest. Hard eyes watched the ocean waves cracked against the rocks below. He was standing at the end of a high ledge over looking the ocean and the beach. For a few hours he had been up there waiting for a member of his crew to come up and take him back to wherever their hideout was currently floating along the beach. But his protégé had yet to show their face. It was a good thing that he didn’t mind waiting and understood how much land they had to cover in order to locate him. Without the luxury of things like car or anything else things took a little longer. And that was alright. Nobody usually noticed them this way anyways. And if they did? Well then Wulf would go ahead and blow a bullet through their fucking skulls. Easy as that.
Standing up top gave him some advantages. One being the obvious: he could see you down there on the beach without you even knowing it. His eyes would catch site of you with no problem if you were walking around like you had nothing better to do or worry about. So, naturally, when he saw something on beach she didn’t seem to see him. He watched on with a frown, his eyes immediately managing to match the girl with a face and a name. An annoyance. She was one. A wimpy annoyance, at that. He wasn’t sure why he decided to give her a chance at this. She wasn’t even where he wanted her to be and that was with the rest of the Neptune gang. Instead she was here, playing on the beach. It honestly flicked a flame up inside of him. This girl was never going to be on his good side. She would be the first to do in any situation. She wasn’t like the rest of his group at all. Stupid girl.
Back and forth with the water she went and Wulf set himself up closer to the edge of his little cliff. His legs dangled over the side and his hands clutched onto the stone only halfheartedly. His eyes watched with but he was uncaring toward anything that may have happened to her. If the waves swallowed her up then he would probably just watch. His mind may sarcastically offer an ‘oh sucks to be her’ but nothing more than that. He wouldn’t budge. He’d let her drown or pull herself back up. It didn’t matter.
He was sure anyone would do the same for him. Just let him die. That was life. You watched your back and didn’t really completely count on someone else unless they knew they have something in for it. Like the Neptune’s Warriors. Most of them worked together because they knew they would get shelter, food, and protection out of it. But they wouldn’t go out of their way to help someone if they didn’t have to. He wouldn’t.
A wave almost had managed to carry her off but she crawled out of it looking like a pathetic animal. He still didn’t move. The corners of his lips didn’t twitch to offer a frown or a smile. It didn’t really faze him; life and death, that is.
She was laying down now. In other words, she was no longer interesting to him. Just a boring thing lying on the beach. She was so stupid. So stupid and vulnerable. She thought she was tough. She thought that she was amazing or something. He’d been sitting here watching her through her whole episode and she didn’t take the time to look around and notice him. Her and her special ears obviously hadn’t managed to hear him over the sound of the waves. She may as well be dead, she was useless to him. And probably most everyone else who held the title ‘war dog.’
He brought his legs back up and quickly pushed to his feet while sweeping his hand over the rocks to pick a few awkward and jagged ones up. He held them firmly in his hands, rolling them together even if the whole ‘rolling’ thing wasn’t really going all that smoothly. He narrowed his eyes, looking down the beach as far as he could, trying to see if anyone else was running along the beach. There was nothing yet. The only living thing that he could see down there was that girl. He looked all around him. Still nothing.
He switched the rocks over to his left hand, only leaving one large flat one in his right. He flicked his wrist in one quick motion and let it go. It flew up into the air, spinning on its side appearing to be an awkward circle since it was whipping around so quickly. It then spiraled downward onto the beach and into the sand. He didn’t care where it landed though and tossed another. This time he put more arm behind it, letting it fly out toward the water.
He had a lot of rocks. It was his new form of entertainment for the time being.

She let the sun's rays warm up her body before she sat back up. Yuna's eyes looked out over the waves, trying to understand their movement before she went back in the water.
Sadly, she didn't think she had enough bravery to go back out into it. She was terrified of being swept under again, and decided that she'd call it a day. Maybe she could come back tomorrow, ready to fight the pointless fight.
But wait, wasn't there a reason why she was here? Yuna reached into the deepest fathoms of her mind, trying to figure out why she was here. Oh, right. Neptune's Warriors. That was why she was attempting to dominate her fear of rushing water. So she could get on the dumb boat and have some safety. Unless the boat sank. But Yuna didn't care to think about that.
Yuna sighed in boredom, glancing down at her soaked clothing. It was just sort of hanging off of her. She probably looked pretty pathetic, like a drowned rat or something. There was nothing to do, but go back in the water, she supposed.
However, her ears picked up a noise. It was of a rock striking into the sand. Not too far away, either. Yuna trekked over to where the sound had come from, and she saw the rock sitting amidst the sand, as if it had buried through it. As she examined it, she heard a large splash in the ocean and looked up to see the Neptune's Warriors' leader sitting atop a small cliff. He was throwing rocks. How immature.
Yuna crept over the sand and scampered up the overhanging to meet him. "Are you really so bored that you're throwing rocks?" she questioned, poking his shoulder. "You could at least make them into arrowheads or something first."
She noticed how close he was to just falling off the rock. Maybe she should have just pushed him. That would have been hilarious, but for that stunt, she may have been kicked out of Neptune's Warriors, and she didn't want that. The company of some companions would be nice. A change from the solitude she usually underwent.
Yuna carefully took a seat next to him, though not so close to the edge. She wasn't going to risk it. He probably wouldn't think twice about pushing her. She leaned back and propped herself up with her arms. Her head fell back as she looked up at the sky.
"So you're... Wulf? I was expecting someone a bit more classier. Not someone covered with tattoos," she explained with a smirk. She lifted her head back up and lurched forward to look him straight in the eyes. "I'm guessing you saw me practically drowning out there? No need to rush to save me or anything. I can swim as well as pigs can fly."
Yuna glanced over her shoulder, but returned her gaze to him. Why was she being friendly to this guy? Was she subconsciously sucking up to him or something? Well, his little boat was the only way out of here for her. But Yuna didn't owe him anything. That didn't mean she couldn't be... socialable, though? She hadn't really talked to anyone in awhile, and humans were, by nature, a species that loved to communicate. Although, she wasn't completely human. Oh, well. He probably wouldn't say much back. Yuna had said so many things that she probably would just ignore her, too, if she was in her position.

Movement. He could see it from the corner of his eye and was quick to look over toward the girl who had been lazing about on the ground. She had finally managed to catch sight of him and now she was hurrying up toward him. He frowned inwardly but went ahead and turn his vision away from her to continue chucking his rocks up into the air. There was a part of him that was swelling with annoyance at the thought of actually having to converse with her but he did what he could to hide it for the time being. If she came up here and started shooting questions at him like mad then he would have no problem showing his displeasure to her. Right now he simply did not feel like having her around. Who liked to be annoyed while they waited for someone or something? Nobody. Absolutely nobody liked that kind of horrible torment.
Oh God, and here she was. He could again see her out of the corner of his eye, reaching out to touch him.
When her finger pressed into his shoulder he made a point to freeze up like a surprised animal. Nothing about him looked tense and the muscles in his arm were still feeling rather relaxed. The only thing that moved was his eyes; turning over toward her slowly without any emotion seeping through them yet. He surveyed her silently, only by looking at her eyes.
You could tell a lot by a person’s eyes. You could watch to see what they were seeing. See where they were looking and who much they blinked. Assume what they were going to do next… all you had to do was watch their eyes.
She had already asked him if he was so bored he was throwing rocks. And she had also gone ahead and said something about making them into arrowheads. But he continued to stare at her as though she was not worthy enough for any of the words that would come off of his tongue. And after staring her down for a few moment he turned his eyes away from her, toughened up his footing a bit and then went back to tossing rocks. He cocked his head and squinted out toward the sea as the stone flew out through the sky and plopped down into the waves. It was hardly anything to notice as a wave had come up to swallow away all of the water that had splashed up from the rock. Then that girl’s voice popped back up again and he couldn’t help but curl his lip, clearly annoyed this time. His eyes fell downward to stare at her.
A twisted grin spread over his lips as he stared down at her. A smile that was not pleased but simply agreeing with the name that she asked. “Yes. I am Wulf.” He just gave a nod to her words, speaking quietly back in a raspy tone. “And I expected that most human beings could swim but we all have to be disappointed sometimes.” He turned his head back away from her and tossed out another rock at the sea.
He wouldn’t move from his spot. No matter how annoyed. This was, after all, his spot already considering he was standing there already. He was going to go ahead and stick with it even if she really pissed him off. She could very possibly regret doing that. He was pretty sure he could take care of a puny thing like her. And she would be surprised what this tattooed mess of a man could do.

Hm, Wulf. What kind of name was that? He wasn't scary like a wolf. And he certainly didn't seem very graceful like one.
Yuna watched him throw more rocks, and truthfully, she would have loved to chuck one at his head. However, he was the leader and that just wouldn't be very respectful. Not that she respected him anyways. But, she had to at least act like she did, or he'd probably throw her into the water.
He didn't seem too thrilled to see her. That was okay. The feeling was mutual. He was rather boring. He did manage to make her smile at his reply, though. Wasn't he clever?
"Who needs to swim when you have such inventions as a boat?" she replied matter-of-factly. Yuna looked up at him, furrowing her brows in disdain. She was expecting some kind of smart comment. He already seemed pretty predictable to her. She knew his type. Mostly because she was pretty much the same way.
Yuna's attention turned back toward the horizon. She listened to the waves breaking far away and to the ones that pounded loudly on the shore not far from her. Her eyes wandered until finally they rested on the rock she was sitting on.
She finally sighed sharply, standing to her feet. If he wasn't going to do something interesting, she'd make him.
Yuna paced slowly down the cliff a ways, seriously pondering what she was about to do. She made a few thinking faces, rolling her eyes and such. For the most part, she was mustering up the courage to do what she had wanted to do since she saw him up on the cliff.
She turned around and walked up behind him. On an impulse, she placed her hands on his shoulders and used all of her might to try to push him off the rock. Her feet propelled her against him as well.
However, her feet slipped against the cliff and she lost her hold on James and went tumbling over the rock herself. Yuna splashed into the water below, swiftly surfacing. She spit the out the water that had flooded her mouth and nose, and growled to herself. Her hands shot up to clear the water out of her eyes. The salt in the ocean was making her eyes burn, along with her nose, and she made a point to swim as rapidly as she could back to the shore. Luckily, no huge waves decided to sweep her under this time, and she made it back on the coast with no traumatization.
Yuna wrung out her hair onto the sand. Now that she was thoroughly soaked again and humiliated, she had nothing to lose to this guy. He couldn't possibly or do anything to make her feel more stupid than she was feeling right now.
She looked the other way, as if nothing had happened, and with her head held high, she walked back up onto the cliff. She collapsed on it, with her knees up to her chest. She tried her best not to shake as the wind blew, because that would make her seem more pathetic. And instead of acknowledging him or anything that had just happened, she stared out at the water with the stillness of a statue.
